Let me start by saying that I understand the scepticism with bloggers and the promotion of brands. Is it genuine or not, right? Well, regarding the brand Samsung I can tell you that I was already using the phone (and a few other things) long before I even started thinking about blogging. In my experience no phone makes better pictures that the Galaxy phone. And since I love capturing life as often as I can, Samsung has been an easy choice for me. So when this brand approached for a collaboration I didn’t need to think twice about saying yes.
As some of you might have picked up from my choice in clothes, I just love colors. So when Samsung offered me the chance to go to Los Angeles to experience and capture the impact of the use of color on street life for an upcoming project in Rotterdam, I couldn’t wait. So last week I came back from LA and oh boy, how I wasn’t disappointed!
Even though I already knew that LA was famous for it’s use of colors and its many colorful murals, I was still amazed. So many houses, buildings, doors, walls and windows have their own shade or art that the whole city seems to embrace you in a warm and happy welcome. Of course this is all a matter of personal taste and I have to admit I am quite biased, but I can’t imagine a person who wouldn’t prefer this above the monotone cities that most of us live in.
In order to capture this great and colorful city on the go and in the best possible way, I recieved the new Galaxy S8 plus just before we traveled to sunny LA. (Check out a few results below this post). Even though the Galaxy was great (as always), my biggest surprise came actually from another little toy of Samsung; the new 360 gear. Its new version is capable of making 4k 360 degrees photos and videos. This means that this little gadget (and tiny it is) is able to capture your whole surrounding with one push of a button. So when you’re looking back at it, or even better: when when you’re viewing it through VR glasses, it feels like you are stepping back in time and re-experience this moment again. Because as you turn around within the picture you can see and hear (in case of a video) everything and everyone around you. Needless to say I have become a huge fan of the 360 gear.
I decided to make a photo diary of my stay and experience, as pictures say more than words.
Just after arrival at LAX airport, we got our comfy van and drove to our house in the hills
After dealing with our jetlag we had this colorful breakfast the next morning
One of the highlights of the trip and the goal of this project: The Pink Wall
I need this one in my town 😃
Filming for the Samsung project which will continue in Rotterdam, can’t wait!

More walls, more love!

Crazy about these walls. Not only do they color up the whole town, but they’re the perfect background for my outfits as well 😉 (secretly thinking of creating such wall in our house..)
