I’m going to tell you about two things today:
-A face cleansing lotion that I’m crazy about (plus a lovely moisturizing day cream with SPF 40)
-My current favorite & sustainable summer look
Well Off make up remover from Origins
A few weeks ago I started using some products from the brand Origins. After reading a lot of good things about their ‘Well Off’ make-up remover I couldn’t wait to try it myself. And it did meet my expectations. I’ve been using it for about 5 weeks now. The make-up (usually I use non-waterproof mascara, a bit of eyeliner, a brow pencil and some concealer) comes off easily without too much effort. With other make-up removers I noticed sometimes that the skin under my eyes was irritated and felt dry after rubbing it all off. I’m happy this remover doesn’t have that effect. The skin under and around your eyes is much more delicate than the rest of your face, therefore I really advice a make-up remover which is natural and delicate as well.
A Perfect World Antioxidant Moisturizer With White Tea from Origins
Another product I’ve been using (since two weeks) is the ‘A Perfect World Antioxidant Moisturizer With White Tea’. The structure of the cream is quite thick, but as soon as it’s on your face it doesn’t feel that way at all. It moisturizes and feels very light, not greasy at all (what I was scared for a little bit). Also the smell is very pleasant. Due to the SPF 40 I think it’s a wonderful cream for sunny days. Although I’m aware of the fact that it’s probably better to use a SPF every day, I’m not so fond of that idea. So when I know I will be having a day which will mainly consist of running around outside I’m using this cream, but for long office days I’ll use another one without SPF. As I love to variate with skin care products, and as I believe one shouldn’t get used to only one product, this is a lovely variation next to my other moisturizing cream.
A healthy person & planet
What I didn’t tell you yet is that Origins is focused on personal health (using plant based formulas) and the health of our planet. (Since a few years this brand also offers make up which I’m also curious about)
Quote from Origins: We harnessed the power of plants to create high performance skincare. And in the process revolutionized the beauty business with our return to Nature and commitment to the environment
Another thing I really love about the brand is that they’re very driven to produce consciously. They don’t use parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, DEA, petroleum etc. and also no animal ingredients. Besides that, the packaging is made out of sustainable materials like for example their carbon boxes which are 50% of post-consumer recycled fiber and made on wind & hydro power. Isn’t that great!?
Let’s take a look at this outfit below. Entirely from sustainable brands, yay! The jacket and shorts are from Raven & Lily, T-shirt is from Thinking-Mu and the shoes are from Matt & Natt.
Raven & Lily
The last two brands I’ve already been wearing before in this article. But Raven & Lily is a new one in my closet 🙂 This brand is committed to employing at risk, impoverished women to improve their livelihood, eco-friendly practices in their sourcing of materials and their design processes, and honoring traditional artisan crafts and techniques.
