I just returned from one of the coolest blog trips!
Samsung invited me to come along to NYC for the launch of the new Galaxy Note 8.
After arrival we went to the Samsung 837, a concept store slash event center in the Meatpacking district. Here I learned to surf in VR (see picture below) and found a cool 360 mirror room. It was the introduction of the trip and I had no idea about the super cool stuff that was about to happen the next days. After the intro we went for some cocktails at The Standard and I headed back to the hotel. By then I was awake for 24 hours already so I was really desperate for some sleep.
The next day the alarm already ringed at 6.15AM. Oh my gosh so early but for a good cause: time to shoot some NYC street style pictures!
Can’t leave NY without these of course ..
Wearing: Jimmy Choo heels, Mango dress, Zara bag and Le Specs sunnies.
Wearing: Spijkers & Spijkers dress, shoes from Rome (old), Jimmy Choo Bag. Photography of both Pictures: Alex Llobet.
After the shoot it was time for the main event of this trip. The launch!
I made a lot of pictures during the launch as I was totally flabbergasted by the screens. During the presentation I knew this is going to be the best phone right now, but I will tell you more about that later.
After the launch we went to have lunch in Central Park. The weather was just perfect these days and Central Park is like a relaxing breeze in the middle of the energetic city.
In the late afternoon it was time to get ready for the next surprise. We were expected at The Press Room with an amaaazing view over NY. Imagine sipping your prosecco while watching the sunset from a rooftop while listening to some live music. The skyscrapers were turning pink from the reflextion of the down going sun. It was truly magical!
Another magical thing was the Note 8! It will be in stores from mid-September, but I received one that night. I was over the moon! And I was on the right spot to test the camera all the way with all those mesmerizing views around me.
For example this picture, made with the Note 8;
The Note 8 has a dual camera. And I have some news for you now; you can leave that big camera at home, because you won’t be needing it anymore! This Note 8 is just all you need as a blogger/creative. I can imagine convincing by words isn’t easy (and for the technical specs you can visit the site of Samsung) so I’m just going to show you what I’m talking about. Let’s hear it for the Note!
Left is my Galaxy 8 plus, right is my Galaxy Note 8. Both great smartphones, but the Note 8 definitely wins it with its pictures! See how beautifully blurry the backgrounds are? None of the pictures is fotoshopped.
But this trip wasn’t over yet.. After having the best view ever during dinner, and sleeping for a few hours that night, there was another surprise waiting. A helicopter flight over NYC! I couldn’t believe it! I’ve never been on a helicopter before and this was in NYC! I got goosebumps when noticing the helicopters and finding out about the surprise. And I felt so very thankful for having the chance to experience this all. No words, just smiles and happiness..
But after the flight I was talking everyone’s head off on how cool this has been!
In the afternoon I headed to Soho for some last minute shopping and that evening I flew back home with so many amazing memories in my mind. But I can step right back in some of those memories as I made a lot of 360 pictures and videos, which I really recommend. It’s already fantastic to have pictures of your travels, but having the possibility to step back in the moment with your VR glasses is even better!
Thank you Samsung! I’ve been a huge fan before I even had a blog ( I remember buying the first Galaxy phone, the S1), and to have these opportunities now is just so special.
Oh and not to forget, I’m totally addicted to the app PENUP. The Note 8 gives me the opportunity to draw whatever I like in various paints. Love it! (my Penup account is @starman, add me if you like I’m just new over there).
